Position Overview

Townewest Elementary is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic tutors to provide small-group academic support in math for students in grades 3–5. Tutors will work closely with students to reinforce grade-level skills, build confidence, and support academic growth in a structured after-school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group instruction in math aligned with grade-level standards

• Support skill development through targeted practice and guided instruction

• Assist students with comprehension, fluency, problem-solving, and foundational math skills

• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed

• Create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment

• Collaborate with school staff as needed to support student success

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with elementary-aged students in a classroom, tutoring, or academic support setting

• Experience with math instruction for grades 3–5 preferred

• Strong communication and classroom management skills

• Ability to work effectively with small groups

• Dependable, professional, and student-focused

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with elementary curriculum and instructional strategies

• Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children

• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
